One of the main attractions that people wait 11 months for would have to the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center. People come from all around the world waiting long freezing hours just to get a glimpse of the tree. This Tree lighting event all started in 1931 before the center was even completed. They started this tradition just to give people a little bit of Hope or as David Rockefeller said himself “ A Little ray of light” as during this time The Great Depression was still taking place. After doing a little bit more research about the Rockefeller Center and how they pick their tree. So It is actually a known fact that during our 11 month break before Christmas is back again they go on a hunt to find the best most healthy looking tree chop it down bringing it back to its new home new york city to decorate with exactly 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and to top it off a start made up of 3 million Swarovski crystals weighing in at 900 pounds. To get into more detail this year’s tree actually came from Wallkill, NY tree type being a Norway Spruce Height at 72 ft tall. Try to visit New York City next year to see the next big tree before it’s too late.
