Mahrshi Brahmbhatt

Pharrell Mensah is a senior at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. He is on the Track team and was part of the Heroes and Cool Kids Program. Pharrell was born on August 21, 2003 and is currently 17 years old.

What are your hobbies/interests?

Track and Field, Basketball, I’m interested in cars. I guess I’m interested in 2K [the basekteball video game] too; that’s one of my hobbies, 2K. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.

So, you’re on the Track team?

Yeah.

How was being on the Track team like before Corona?

Pre-corona, the last season, it was actually fun. Like, the team got closer and we bonded more. Going into the spring season we thought like it was going to be a nice, fun, team bonding experience, but then ‘rona happened. But it was good. The boy’s team was doing good, the girl’s team was also doing good. We were winning a lot of races and we made it to groups.

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about Track and Field.

What is the one thing you will remember most from your high school experience?

To be honest, all the amazing things I did and probably my friends too; all the people I was with, all the memories I made, the teachers, like Mrs. Prusicki, and quarantine; being in online school.

What is your dream career?

A pharmacist.

Before COVID happened, what did you think your senior year would’ve been like?

I felt like it was gonna be a smooth transition, like: I’m a senior, I’ll get my license earlier, I would hang out with my friends, go to parties, stuff like that.

If you could use one word to describe your high school career, what would it be?

Extravagant.

We at The Torch wish Pharrell the best of luck for the rest of his senior year.  We will miss you, Pharrell.  Make us proud!
