Lady Mustangs Basketball Takes Win Against Perth Amboy Panthers

On Jan. 26, JFK’s Lady Mustang basketball team rallied in their win against Perth Amboy. Paula Antunes was Kennedy’s lead scorer in the 47-35 win.

The Lady Mustangs led the Perth Amboy Panthers 20-12 going into halftime. At the start of the second half, the girls were determined to keep the same energy and secure the win.

Throughout the second half of the game, tensions were high between both sides. Luckily, the Mustangs kept their cool and continued to play their best game of the season.

The fourth quarter was a back and forth effort but the Lady Mustangs held their own and kept the lead. In the end, Kennedy defeated the Perth Amboy Panthers 47-35. The energy was high throughout the four quarters thanks to the Mustangs Step Team and their captain Meelah Joseph.

After the game, Coach Murphy, Coach Smith and Coach Anon celebrated the win with the girls by congratulating them on their spectacular offense and defense. The Mustangs added their fifth win of the year and look forward to keep their momentum against Edison.
