Henry Rose Perfume Review
Henry Rose is a perfume brand that was founded in 2016 by famous actress Michelle Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer wanted to create an ingredient transparent product for the safety of her kids by using natural scents. In prior years, “Windows Down” won The Allure Beauty Expert Best of Beauty Award in 2021 and “Queens and Monsters” won the same award in 2020. Most recently, Flora Carnivora won The Allure Beauty Expert Best of Beauty Award in 2022. The staff at The Torch united with the staff at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School to give you an open review on the perfume sampler.
Here are our top five favorite scents from the Henry Rose full collection:
-
Smyth
-
Queens and Monsters
-
Char
-
Dark is Night
-
Torn
Rating: 8.2/10 Smyth
This scent definitely was the most enjoyable. Smyth has a very sweet and attractive smell. The scent is described as, “Crisp green apple is rounded with watery notes and sheer white woods for a bright finish” on the Henry Rose site. Once you get past the initial smell of rubbing alcohol for a couple of seconds, this perfume lives up to the expectations and smells exactly how it’s described. Overall, The Torch agreed that this scent has a sweet green apple scent.
Rating: 7.9/10 Queens and Monsters
Queens and Monsters has an extremely peppery smell for the first minute, but when it settles down it has an excellent scent. This perfume gives off a linen scent, similar to a soft-cottony smell that is pleasant. The description, according to the website is, “The freshness and zest of petitgrain balances the fluid sensuality of sandalwood to create a woody aroma.” In our opinion, this scent smells the opposite of the description, which isn’t bad, but it doesn’t smell woody.
Rating: 7.5/10 Char
Char has a soft fruity smell. It is very delicate, compared to the scent of newly washed sheets. The Torch members and JFKMHS students agree that it is a young feminine scent.
Rating:7/10 Dark is Night
The initial smell was strong. The Torch staff agreed that it had a “lodge vibe” and smelled like vanilla bean, but it also gave off a “chill night around the fire pit” vibe.
Rating: 7/10 Torn
According to the Henry Rose website, the description of the product is displayed as, “The richness of vanilla bean blends with the earthiness of vetiver roots to create an aroma that’s both spicy and floral.” JFKMHS staff described the scent as vanilla-like, soothing, as well as a “spiritual incense” type of smell.
