Sezan is excited to graduate and go to college.

Sezan Imam is a senior at John F Kennedy Memorial High School.  In this article he talks about his time and memories here in his high school career and what he plans to do after.

Are you planning to go to college, if so where and why?

Sezan: It’s been a tough choice, but I’ll be going to Rutgers in Newark to study computer science, although I had been deciding on another college, Rutgers is my final decision. Rutgers has much to offer and I’ve been interested for quite some time.

What’s some advice you would give to freshmen?

Use the time they have now to explore things they are interested in. Once they find out what they want to do, they should take classes related to that field and join clubs similar to that field. This will allow you to define the person you are and make new friends.

Who is someone you look up to as a role model?

My parents. They’ve been with me through the tough times and have been there for me every step of the way. I wouldn’t be here without them, I owe them a lot and I appreciate everything they have done for me.

Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

Hopefully, in ten years I’ll be working at a job in computer science, it’s been my lifelong dream and hopefully, I’ll make it come true.

Is there anything you regret not doing in your high school years?

Yes, I didn’t participate in many clubs or after-school activities that interested me. I hope no one will make the same mistake and regret it later on in the future.

How has Covid impacted your high school years?

Learning during covid was difficult because it was hard to pay attention in class when you are home. I think that people would have learned more in school and it would have been better to work with other students in person.

Did you enjoy your time here at JFKHMS?

Yes, JFK has so much to offer and it was such a great experience to be able to live my high school life here.
