On Jan. 4, 2024, Fenty Skin welcomed a new product to their Fenty Treatz line: Kalahari Melon Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil. Available at Sephora, Ulta and Fenty Beauty’s website, this new product retails for $24 and claims to nourish and moisturize the lips.
What is it?
In its production, the lip oil is infused with Kalahari melon oil and fruit extract to produce its juicy scent. On top of that, the product is cruelty-free, vegan, earth-conscious and gluten-free. It can be used during the day or night as a healing moisturizer for the lips.
Rihanna, Fenty Skin’s founder, guarantees that this new lip oil, along with her Barbados Cherry scent, will hydrate, improve your skin barrier and enhance the texture of your lips. The product claims to show results in as little as a week.
On the Fenty site, Rihanna states that she, “wanted to create a product that gives lips the same hydration and nourishment we give the rest of the skin on our face and body.”
Is it worth the hype?
The tropical smell hits you almost instantly, which is definitely a positive aspect of this product. The strong fruity scent smells more fresh than artificial, as if it were edible. When applied with the plush doe-applicator, it glides easily and smoothly over your lips, resulting in a glossy look that lasts for hours.
After using the product consistently for a few days, our lips have gotten smoother. Without excessive eating or drinking, the lip oil most often lasted around 5 hours.
The quality of the product itself is worth the full five stars, but when regarding the total ounces in the tube, is not worth the price of $24. Although many lip oils containing around the same amount of ounces are pricier, some even being double, we just don’t think that it’s worth the price it’s listed for on the market.
Overall, we’d most likely purchase this product again, even though we deem the price a bit high. So if you’re wondering if this lip oil is really a good investment, quality wise we can say that’s most definitely a “yes.” Rihanna’s Kalahari melon lip oil will transform and rejuvenate even the driest of lips in no time.
