Eryk Gregula is a senior at JFK Memorial High School. His goal is to go to Rowan University, where he plans to major in Criminal Justice, as well as play soccer.
Is there any reason you chose to go to Rowan University?
Eryk: Yeah … they have a pretty good Criminal Justice program, as well as they’re not too far from home, and a very solid soccer team which interested me.
Speaking of soccer, what position do you play, and why?
I’m a center back, and I just loved the feeling of taking kids out.
What interests you about Criminal Justice?
Well, I wanna be a State Trooper, so I wanna do something related to that so I have some knowledge before going into the career.
Out of all four years that you’ve been here, what was your favorite?
I would probably say my sophomore year because I played for the school [soccer team] and made a lot of friends.
Is there anything that you’re looking forward to in college?
Just having a good time, living the college experience, and hopefully having a good soccer experience as well.
If you could give one piece of advice to any freshman coming into high school, what would it be?
I would say just try to do sports, get involved, make the most out of it. It might not be the best time, but try to do what you can. Have a great fpur years before you leave.
Do you think you’ll miss anything about this place?
Personally, …the people that were here, my sophomore year, but besides that, not really.
Out of every class you’ve taken, was there one that stood out to you as your favorite?
Sports History with Mr. Trenery.
What are you most excited about when it comes to your future?
See what honestly has come for me. I’m not exactly sure what’s gonna happen, so I’m just gonna go with the flow and see what happens.
