On March 17, 2025, Chick-fil-A released their new limited-time spring drinks. The pineapple dragon fruit-infused drinks come mixed with different bases, including their signature Sunjoy and lemonade.
The Sunjoy beverage includes a mix of the pineapple dragon fruit flavoring, sweet tea and lemonade. The new drink is also available as a frosted lemonade, which is a mixture of lemonade and vanilla soft serve. The drink also comes in diet Sunjoy, diet lemonade, sweet tea and unsweetened tea options.
Review
I tried both the Sunjoy and lemonade versions and found the pineapple dragon fruit Sunjoy has a taste similar to a refresher that you get from Dunkin’ Donuts. Its sweet, fruity syrup is the first thing that is tasted. The lemonade taste was not as strong as expected, and if you haven’t had Chick-fil-A lemonade, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell if any was in the drink.
Though the taste of lemonade was hardly noticeable, the sweetness and acidity of the pineapple and dragon fruit made up for it. There was that faint, bitter-sweet tea taste towards the end, helping to balance the syrupy drink.
The pineapple dragonfruit lemonade was quite tasty, as well. Compared to the Sunjoy, the lemonade was much more prominent in this drink. It was also significantly more sweet, most likely due to the lack of the slight bitterness that comes with sweet tea.
While the drink was more sweet than the Sunjoy, it was also more acidic. Between the citrus taste of the lemonade, and the acidic pineapple and dragon fruit, the drink definitely had a tangy, sour aftertaste that some may not enjoy.
If you enjoy refresher-like beverages, the new pineapple dragon fruit drinks at Chick-fil-A will exceed your expectations.
