Spring has officially sprung at Dunkin’! Starting March 5, two fan-favorite drinks, the Dunkalatte and Pistachio Coffee, are back on the menu after popular demand.
What is The Dunkalatte?
First introduced in fall 2024, the Dunkalatte has returned nationwide after becoming an instant sellout. This delectable drink is Dunkin’s first “coffee milk” latte—a concept that originates from Rhode Island—created by blending whole milk with Dunkin’s special coffee extract.
Available iced or hot, the Dunkalatte is a sweet, rich coffee with a comforting fusion of espresso. Dunkin’ promotes the iced Dunkalatte as tasting like a “melty milkshake on the rocks.”
Customers have the option of getting the drink in two other flavors: blueberry and toasted almond. Some describe the blueberry Dunkalatte as tasting like a blueberry muffin, and the other flavors as similar to coffee or butterscotch ice cream.
Hype on the Pistachio Coffee
The Pistachio Coffee has made its much anticipated comeback for the first time since 2018. Avid lovers of the drink have pleaded with Dunkin’ to bring it back onto the menu. Some even went as far as to launch petitions for the flavor combination to never retire.
The drink is made with Dunkin’s Original Blend coffee and pistachio flavor swirl and is served hot or iced. Fans are raving about the sweet and salty flavor profile.
Pistachio has become a buzzing flavor ever since the viral Dubai chocolate took off on TikTok last year. More coffee shops have started to introduce pistachio flavored drinks for a unique spring palate.
Final Thoughts
We were instantly hit with the sweetness after tasting the iced Dunkalatte. The espresso flavor was strong and refreshing, but this drink wasn’t our favorite as it tasted overly sweet. If you are a fan of sugary iced coffees, then the Dunkalatte may be for you.
Maansi rates the Dunkalatte a 5/10, while Nishi gives it a 6/10.
We had different thoughts on the iced Pistachio Coffee. The pistachio flavor was faint, but the sweetness wasn’t overpowering. It was a lighter coffee with a balance of milk and sweetener. The Pistachio Coffee was definitely creamier than expected, but not unsettling. The pistachio flavor could have been made stronger, but we liked it better than the Dunkalatte.
We both give this drink a 7/10.
Both drinks are only available for a limited time, so hurry and try them out. Let us know what you think in the comments.
