Being on the swimming team all throughout high school, how has it affected you ?
Hazem: Swimming has affected me positively as it has helped me build mental discipline and I feel that it made me stronger physically. I’ve made a lot of good friends throughout my career and I’m sad it’s over.
What are your plans after high school ?
I plan to major in finance at Rutgers, New Brunswick, work in quant research, and hopefully start my own hedge fund or even a business.
What is your advice for the incoming freshmen ?
I would advise you to really get involved in your sport and activities here, and make lifelong friends. Also, make sure you’re being social, because it goes by very fast.
What three words would you use to describe your high school career ?
Funny. Boring. And stupid.
What is your favorite school based activity ?
Probably swimming.
What’s something you’re passionate about but many people don’t know about ?
Something I’m passionate about that many people don’t know is algorithmic societal situations.
What is the hardest class you have taken ? What made it so difficult ?
The hardest class I’ve taken was algebra two honors with Mrs. Root because of the amount of work, but I really enjoyed it because it helped build me mentally. It wasn’t even that hard, just a lot of work.
What do you regret not doing throughout your high school career ?
I regret not being more active in school, like the activities.
How are you feeling about these last few weeks of school ?
I don’t even do anything anymore.
Do you think you will miss high school ? Why ?
Yeah, for sure I’ll miss [John F Kennedy Memorial] high school, and I regret not doing more. It’s okay though, because in [Rutgers] University I will make sure I don’t.
