What advice would you give to incoming freshmen starting their high school journey?
Try out new things—even if you think you won’t like them. You might surprise yourself. Something you avoid could end up becoming something you love.
What are your goals after high school, and how are you preparing for them now?
I plan to major in finance or business and eventually work in real estate or run a side business. Right now, I’m focused on learning as much as I can about those fields and building a strong foundation.
If you could change one thing about our school, what would it be and why?
I’d like the school to host more events. It would give students more opportunities to be involved and make memories beyond the classroom.
What’s one challenge you’ve faced in high school, and how did you overcome it?
Junior year was definitely tough. I didn’t take it seriously at first, coming off an easier sophomore year. I learned the hard way how important it is to stay focused, and I’ve worked hard to finish strong.
What’s one thing you’re passionate about?
I’m passionate about the NFL season and track and field. Track was my first sport, and I played football for the first time this year. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did—it’s now one of my favorites.
What were your favorite classes at JFK and why?
Journalism really helped me become a better writer, and I loved sports history because of Mr. Trenery. He’s my favorite teachers and makes the class so interesting.
How has your high school experience been overall?
It’s had ups-and-downs, but I’ve grown a lot. I joined track as a freshman and stuck with it all four years. Trying football my senior year was a highlight too.
If you were principal for a day, what’s the first thing you’d do?
I’d fix the Wi-Fi! It’s way too slow, and I think the school should invest in a stronger network so students can actually use it.
If you could have lunch with any teacher or staff member, who would it be and why?
Definitely Mr. Trenery. He’s my favorite teacher, and since we’re both Jets fans, I know we’d have a great conversation.
