Introduction to the Trip
On Tuesday, May 20, the senior class went to Frogbridge Day Camp for their newly introduced senior trip. This trip was created to replace the recently retired Project Graduation as the senior class’s “last hurrah” to mark the end of their high school careers. Logistics
Students arrived by school bus to Frogbridge Day Camp after a 45-minute trip. Once there, students were herded towards a main tent where they were given the day’s itinerary. Students were allowed access to any of the open activities that were available for use. No set schedule allowed students to participate in any activity they wanted to in whichever order they desired. Lunch was open from 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m and offered a wide variety of food. After this period, dessert was served for around 35 minutes. Activities were closed at 2:15 p.m and buses started to on-load passengers at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Activities
Frogbridge offered a wide range of activities, of which the school provided a specific set. For those who love water, kayaking and paddle boating were popular choices alongside a pool. Other non-water activities included mini golf, a driving range, fishing, and sports consisting of volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
Food
With all the activities, Frogbridge delivered a great summer set of food that included hot dogs, hamburgers, and mac and cheese. For the students who couldn’t eat meat, there was a veggie burger for those who preferred a vegetarian option. To wash down all the food, there were plenty of drink options, including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Brisk, and Starry, along with bottled water. The food didn’t end there, though, as after lunch, they provided dessert, which consisted of ice cream, cookies, watermelon slices, snow cones and even cotton candy.
Opinions/Wrap-up
Overall, seniors generally enjoyed this year’s senior class trip.
“This trip allowed for us to participate in unique experiences with a wide variety of people,” Senior Krisk Kapoor states. “I thought food was good considering the free nature of the trip.”
Most students felt that the day exceeded their expectations.
“The trip was a lot better than I expected it to be,” Muhammad Ali explains. “The activities were really fun, and the food options were also great. I overall had a great experience.”
This year’s senior class trip to Frogbridge Day Camp was ultimately a success. With good food, fun activities, and a positive atmosphere, this year’s senior trip set out to surpass the highs that Project Graduation provided seniors. In most respects, it accomplished this and raised the bar for what seniors should expect out of a senior class end-of-year event.
