What is your favorite high school soccer memory?
Del Arca: My favorite high school soccer memory is being varsity captain. It made me feel proud of myself and believe I did a great job.
What is your best high school memory?
My best high school memory was when I won The Mustang Award my junior year. I felt really accomplished for winning that.
What clubs or activities were you involved in?
…I did soccer all 4 years, I joined volleyball my freshman year, and I was apart of Dance Exchange. I was captain of my soccer team senior year.
What is one thing you learned in high school that will be most valuable in your future?
One thing I learned that will be most valuable and help me in my future is to never care about what other people think or say about you. No one knows you better than yourself.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I am attending Berkley College where I am majoring in fashion. I look to own my own fashion company in the future.
What was the biggest challenge you faced in high school?
…paying to much attention to peoples opinions and comments and being scared about being myself.
How has school changed from freshman year to senior year?
My life has changed significantly since freshman year. I made so many new friends, and as a person I matured. I set myself up for the future and figured out what I want do do for my career.
What is one skill or lesson you wish you learned earlier
One skill I wish I learned earlier would be managing my time better and prioritizing myself over anyone else. I could have done much better if I didn’t waste my time on work that doesn’t matter.
What is the biggest issue students face today?
The biggest issue students face today is cell phones. I find it hard sometimes to focus and get my work done without getting distracted when I have my phone with me, and I feel its the same for other students as well.
What advice would you give to an incoming freshmen?
The advice I would give to an incoming freshmen would to not miss a single school activity and join a lot of sports and clubs, it will make your high school experience even more enjoyable. Don’t take the time for granted because it goes really fast.
