On Sept. 15, Krispy Kreme released their fall menu, including four new donuts. We had each person choose between cotton candy, blue ribbon apple pie and kreme puff.
Cotton Candy
According to Krispy Kreme, the Cotton Candy Doughnut is, “Dipped in vibrant blue icing and coated with cotton candy flavored sugar, it’s topped with a playful strawberry-flavored icing swirl and a fluffy cotton candy-flavored buttercream dollop.”
When polled, JFK students rated the Cotton Candy Doughnut a 6.8/10. Senior Kathryn McDermid states, “I rate it a 7/10 just because it has a good flavor, but I don’t like the crunchiness in it.”
Blue Ribbon Apple Pie
The apple pie donut was the most popular amongst the JFK students.
Krispy Kreme describes the donut as “An un-glazed shell doughnut filled with apple cinnamon filling, dipped in caramel flavored icing with cinnamon cookie sprinkle and white icing drizzles.”
“I rate it a 9/10 because I like the texture of the filling and how sweet it is,”senior Lemar Baidariwal states.
Kreme Puff
This was our least popular donut; only one person chose to review this one. According to Krispy Kreme, this donut is “An unglazed ring doughnut with a Kreme™ swirl, powdered coating, and doughnut dot topper.”
“I rate it a 3/10 because it’s dry and I don’t like the flavor of the frosting on top,” Eva Kuzar states.
Final Verdict
The overall rating that we gave the new fall doughnuts was a 7/10. The Torch is looking forward to trying the new Halloween donuts.
