Ana Sanchez
Ana Sanchez is a 17 year-old senior at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. It is her first year as a contributor to The Torch. Ana transferred to John F Kennedy Memorial her junior year, as she previously lived in her home country, the Dominican Republic. Ana played volleyball in her previous school’s varsity team her freshman and sophomore year. In her freetime, Ana likes to try out new recipes and scroll through her Pinterest feed and look for new design ideas to try out in her room. After graduating high school, Ana hopes to major in Criminal Justice and later apply to attend Law School. She views Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a role model due to her courage and independence, as well as a representative of women and minorities. Ana perceives journalism as a way of expressing herself as well as complementing her passion for criminal justice. This year, Ana hopes to grow as a writer, journalist, and student with this given opportunity at The Torch.
