With being one of the biggest events of the year at JFKMHS, the Kennedy Players “want to make some memories,” at the 2025 Spring Musical “Mamma Mia.” This year, there are some modifications, such as a who is running Stage Crew and Set Construction.
Changes in leadership
In past years, Mr. Kaul was in charge of sound, lights, set construction and stage crew. This year, Mr. Heeney in charge of set construction, Mr. Casem leading the sound and lights and Mrs. Ebner and Ms. McKeever guiding stage crew.
A Glimpse of the Cast & Crew’s Experiences
With the cast’s determination and dedication, there’s no doubt that the show will be phenomenal. One of the leads, playing Harry Bright, senior Bhavik Shah shares his feelings about being on stage one last time.
“’Mamma Mia’ is kinda fire,” Shah states. “I did it last year, ‘High School Musical’ which was also kinda fire, and now, next year I’m gone. But I’ll miss you guys.”
While the cast learns their lines and choreography, the crew is in the wings memorizing what props go on each scene.
Senior Krisha Nayee shares her opinion and experiences as an active member of set construction and stage crew. Nayee has been part of the stage crew since her freshman year.
“It feels a little different, yes,” Nayee states. “The seniors that used to be there, guiding us, are gone and we’re the seniors now, which is crazy. Mr. Kaul’s not being there makes it feel different for sure. We were so used to laughing and talking with him, but these changes won’t stop us from enjoying our last year.”
