On April 17, the JFKMHS boys volleyball team played against Edison High School. The varsity team lost both sets but still put forth their best efforts. The first set resulted in a score of 14-25, and the second set ended at 20-25.
The top players of the varsity game were seniors Aryan Patel, with 3 kills and 4 blocks, and Manan Patel with 5 assists.
“We got a good group of boys here, and I think that we can come out strong in the next game,” senior outside hitter Aryan Patel said. “I made some great memories here with some great teammates, and I’m definitely going to come back and just see how the team’s evolved when I was gone.”
While the varsity team unfortunately lost, the junior varsity team stepped onto the court to take home the win. The team won both sets, scoring 31-29 for the first one and 25-22 for the second. The first set had everyone on the edge of their seats.
“Honestly, before starting the game, we were losing at first, actually,” sophomore setter Abhi Savalia said. “We lost 2-0 against them [Edison High] at their home game, but we brought it back. We played our hearts out and we won.”
The crowd was roaring with excitement while watching the team fiercely play on the court.
“Varsity played good even if they lost,” senior Kangna Patel said. “JV was doing very good at keeping the score up, and it was really exciting to watch. Everyone’s eyes were locked on watching who would win.”
Good job to the JFK boys’ volleyball team and good luck on your next game!
