Mr. JFK 2020 – Aftermath
March 5, 2020
One of the most anticipated events by the students and faculty of JFK, the Mr. JFK competition, sure lived up to its hype as we crowned a new winner on February 5, 2020. After a close race between our top ten contestants, Philip Chun came out on top. Although Chun was our winner, each contestant managed to wow the audience with their talents and clever responses. From Ryan Ticas playing the piano blindfolded, to Ankith Golla rapping about his favorite teachers, all of the boys put on an entertaining display for the students and faculty who attended the event.
We spoke to Chun after the big win, who described his night as extremely emotional. As Chun described to one of our journalists, “I felt super humbled that I won and am grateful for all my supporters.” We also spoke to our first runner up before the event, Brian McHugh. He explained his excitement by declaring he’s “been waiting for this since [my] freshman year.” Overall, Mr. JFK 2020 was a memorable and successful night for both the seniors and underclassmen to enjoy and cherish.
