Netflix’s series “Dahmer- Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story” is now the third show to reach a billion hours viewed in 60 days.

The new series,”Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” currently aired on Netflix on Sept. 21, 2022. I recently watched the 10 episode series where Netflix managed to recreate Dahmer’s gruesome story almost exactly. Dahmer murdered 16 teenagers who happened to be all boys. According to Ella Camp from NME,  the victim’s families have been retraumatized since the airing of the show. The series may have you weeping because of how unfortunate the entirety of it is.

After hearing many reviews from my friends and family, they all believe that the show is a great depiction of the horrible acts Dahmer committed. I also believe that regardless of how gruesome the story is, this was a great way to showcase a lot of important details from not only Dahmers past, but also the lives of the innocent victims he targeted. Due to some of the scenes being extremely graphic and bizarre, I would not recommend anyone under the age of 12 to watch it.

Overall, the show itself is amazing because of its realism and precision. The actors and actresses were spectacular as they played their roles perfectly. Watching each victim fall into the ploy of Jeffrey Dahmer was so emotionally intense and commiserating, which I believe is part of the reason the show is receiving so much social uproar. In my final opinion, I enjoyed the show and I would encourage others, ages 15+, to watch the show as well.
